Today in New York: Stephanie Koerner

Stephanie Koerner (aka Stevie) lives in Chicago with a kitty named Motown.

She defines herself a “design junky”, one who lives for creating eye candy.

And I couldn’t agree more as her collection of USA states charms with a heart in the middle are just the cutest way to express your love for your country. Being it New York, Cali, Tennesse or Italy, she can custom make you a jewel that will state (precisely) where your heart belongs.

:: Why and when did you started Tru.che? I started Tru.Che about 5 years ago, after I graduated from college. I always wanted to create a handmade business of my own and jewelry seemed like the perfect match for me.

:: Where do you get your inspiration from? I’m inspired by really many things, among which are rain & thunderstorms, walking in the nature, listening to live music, autumn, the beautiful steel and glass made architecture of Chicago, graphics, photography, decorating.

:: Who is your ideal buyer? Anyone who loves and appreciates handmade items.  Also anyone that has home town pride, and wants to show where they are from.

:: What is your favorite NYC place? Anywhere that sells the delicious New York style pizza. I love the size and flavor that you find in NYC only. There is actually a place in Union Station that I fell in love with, but can’t remember the name…

:: Do you think New York can still be considered the place-to-be for young creatives? I think New York can be considered anything. It’s a metropolis in where you can find everybody and everything and it is in constant move. Everything happens there and everything arrives there, no matter how or for how long. That’s what I think it is the go to place for any type of industry, creative one included.

:: Where do you shop in NYC? When I am in New York I love to go shopping in Chinatown and SOHO: I love the pace and vibrant atmosphere that you can find there. The people, streets, boutiques and clothes there are just amazing and different from anywhere else. But hey, also simply strolling in one of NYC’s random streets is lots of fun too.

:: I say Italy, you say…? I say delicious food! Italian food is by far my favorite.  Oooh and the vino! I like that too.”
