Leidy enjoys wine tasting, going to the beach, the beautiful views of the Bay Area, and learning about different cultures.

But aside from all this Leidy is also a true art lover who loves to paint, draw, and photograph people. Through LeidysIntuition, she sells lovely women’s accessories for all occasions.

:: Why and when did you started Leidys Intuition? I have to say that the idea of starting my own business came from my family and closest friends. I’ve always had a creative mind and a passion for the latest trends in fashion. Because of that, I used to create unique pieces to give away on special occasions to my loved ones and they were the ones that believed in me and pushed me to create what is today Leidy’s Intuition

:: Where do you get your inspiration from? The truth is that I can get inspired by the smallest thing- even in a rainy day. Colors, textures, scents are all inspirational to me. I also like to keep up with fashion and therefore I like to glance at magazines and watch TV shows.

:: Who is your ideal buyer? My ideal buyer will be anyone that appreciates all the love and hard work that I put into every piece that I make. I love when people admire my work and I am proud of delivering unique pieces to any type of buyer.

:: What is your favorite place in San Francisco? I love everything about San Francisco! But if I have to pick my favorite place that will be Pier 39. Pier 39 is where all the young talent meets. You can go and listen to music, enjoy the view and everything is really spectacular.

:: Do you think San Francisco can still be considered the place-to-be for young creatives? San Francisco is and will always be the place-to-be for young creatives. Artists from all over the world come to San Francisco to be inspired by the city and to fulfill their dreams.

:: Where do you shop in San Francisco? Three places: Powell street, Union Square, and Powell street again!

:: If I say Italy, you say…? Food, romance, and…fashion!
He says that he has “always created or at the very least created a mess”, always wanting -ever since a kid “to paint and get my hands dirty.” After a degree in Theatre from the University of South Alabama, he realized really early that acting wasn’t his thing and thus switched to painting the sets and backdrops. And this thing -which Kenny loved- is exactly what brought him to New York in the first place.
In the City Kenny landed a job at the Juilliard School, worked freelance in the Off Broadway scene and then finally decided to pursue his own art and develop his own creations. And that’s how the super funny world of the Kudu-Lah critters was born.

:: Why and when did you started Kudu-Lah? I started Kudu-Lahabout 3 years ago. I wanted to create something that was fun. Art you can snicker at. I started doodling these lil critters based on people I saw as I was riding the subway home late at night from work. They were really fun so I started painting them. I took photographs of where I had drawn them. One critter led to the next and now I have around 200 or so. I only use 16 right now but will add more in the future.

:: Where do you find your inspiration? I love going to the American Museum of Natural History for inspiration! Also, just people watching down in Union Square Park. I get a lot of ideas from the people I met and observe.

:: Who is your ideal costumer? I love little kids who buy my stuff with their own allowance money. I think that is so cool because that child earned that money and they want to spend it on my lil critters. It’s really cool to know I’m am possibly starting a kids art collection! I would say my ideal buyer is children from ages 3 to 12 and young people, 22-35.

:: What is your favorite spot in the City? I really love Union Square Park. I have sold there , on the street, for about the same amount of time kudu-lah has been around. I create critter paintings and prints and tourist and locals alike buy them. It is an amazing place. A spot that has fostered my creativity and has allowed me to grow as an artist and as a business person. It is a slice of the NYC dream.

:: Do you think NYC can still be considered the place to be for young creatives? I hope so and totally believe so. NYC is hard , really hard sometimes but as the song goes if you can make it here you can make it anywhere.

::Where do you shop in NYC? I like to go to Uniqlo and Urban Outfitters. There is a really sweet watch company called Nooka out of NYC that I really like.

:: If I say Italy, you say…? The place I am going to spend my one year anniversary with the wife this October! I love Italy! I went there my first year of college and that trip alone inspired me to be an artist.

Bento Boxes @ Republic

2) Wawa Canteen (289 Mercer Street)

Ancora asiatico.

3) Marumi Restaurant (546 LaGuardia Pl)

Sushi and Sashimi

4) Gusto Organic (519 Ave of the Americas @ 14th St)

Siete in fase detox?

5) Stand Burger (24 East 12th Streer)

Enjoy!

Manette Belliveau is a native Californian, with a creative spirit that loves art, fashion, design, travel, coastal living and things found in nature. She hand collects all of her sea glass and sea treasures, some of which are then transformed into Newsprout’s jewels. During the week Manette manages a small non-profit agency, but in her spare time she is a true and ispiring artist who, in addition to making jewelry, paints, sketches and enjoys photography.

Her style is casual, fun, modern and hip. And her creations are sea treasure you’ll love to carry with.

:: Why and when did you start Newsprout? I opened newsprout in the spring of 2009 as a way to express my artistic side and share my creations with others. I still get excited every time someone buys a piece.

:: Where do you get your inspiration from? I love to travel and find that visiting new places and meeting new people and learning about other cultures is a major inspiration. Around home I am inspired by the ocean, sound of the waves and my natural surroundings.Although I have no formal art training, I have always known in my heart that creating things was in my dna.

:: Who is your ideal buyer? Anyone that enjoys hand crafted, one of a kind pieces. My customers come from all over the world and tend to enjoy jewelry and art inspired by the beach, coastal living and the casual California lifestyle.

:: What is your favorite place in San Fran? The Golden Gate Bridge, with the view of the city skyline in the background and the fog rolling in.

:: Do you think San Francisco still is the place to be for the hippy-bohemian tipes? Yes, however it has evolved over the years and is now more sophisticated and a little less bohemian, but is still a cool hip hang-out with lots of artistic talent.

:: Where do you shop in San Francisco? I love Union Square! I grew up shopping there and still enjoy the atmosphere and feel of the square, mix of designer shops, boutiques, salons and department stores all close together in one place with an occasional cable car going by.

:: San Francisco not-to-be-missed food places are…? Zuni Café, RN74 and Kuleto’s.

:: If I say Italy, you say…? Great style, great food and warm friendly people.

No wonders che Walt Whitman ci girasse così sperduto e allampanato.
