:: Why and when did you started Random Perfect? I started Random Prefect in August last year. It all started when late one night when I had the idea of making a silhouette necklace, I spent a couple minutes searching my studio/garage for a good material to use and happened to see a broken record on the ground and figured, ‘Hey that’s black and I can probably cut through it…’ After that I started coming up with more and more ideas and when I got some good feedback about them from friends and family I started to sell them on Etsy.

:: Where do you get your inspiration from? A lot of my inspiration comes from somewhere at the back of my head that randomly says, “What about an octopus?” or “Something tea themed…” Other times I’ll see an object and think how cute it would look in vinyl. Right now I’m working on a bunch of tattoo inspired pieces.

:: Who is your ideal buyer? Someone with money preferably, but really anyone a little quirky who will love my pieces as much as I do! I also love it when people have a connection to music, because the pieces are vinyl records, which can be seen as a physical embodiment of sound.
:: What is your favorite place in San Fran? I have to say the Legion of Honor, it’s a beautiful museum on top of a hill right at the edge of the city so you can see the ocean to one side and the city on the other. The museum itself has a wonderful permanent collection of art and they get some amazing visiting exhibits too.

:: Do you think San Francisco still is the place to be for the hippy-bohemian types? It’s a wonderful place to be for any subculture because there are so many different communities that are very accepting, the city draws in all sorts.
:: Where do you shop in San Francisco? I’m not big on going out and shopping, I do end up buying a lot of art books and little trinkets at the Legion of Honor and the DeYoung, but I love anywhere a little different especially if it has antiques.

:: San Francisco not-to-be-missed food places are…? The Ferry Building is wonderful, they have some of the best local products and really represent our wonderful slow food options.
:: If I say Italy, you say…? ‘Awe inspiring.
