MAIEMI – Today in Miami: Chabri
A visual artist and fashion designer, Chabri creates her architecture for the body with draping and movement as vital elements in each piece. Her mantra is that “humble luxury define the fashions”, and with a strict use of clean lines but paying attention to detail, function, as well as artisticly fashionable elements, Chabri is able to create the couture and ready to wear designs that you can check in these amazing pics.

:: Why and when did you started Chabri? I started Chabri as a result of realizing “why not?” I’ve always been into fashion and art, even since the toddler years, so I just came to a point in my life where venturing into it seriously just made sense.
:: Where do you get your inspiration from? I get my inspiration from color, texture, form and movement. I probably design a bit differently from many designers, as I often start from the fabric, rather than the design. I am definitely experimental, so i simply just try things all the time. Some things unexpectedly work, others don’t. I am a very in the moment person, so the piece is often changed and created very differently than originally planned. Fabrics and how you feel in the clothes is also where I draw inspiration from. You should feel as lovely as you do naked while wearing the clothes. Fashion to me is really about visual pleasure and art and architecture for the body. I just don’t know what I would do without it.

:: Who is your ideal buyer? My ideal buyer is any woman who appreciates the elements of color, texture, draping and movement of fashion, and really just life itself. I wish I traveled more, so I think free spirits and traveling fashionistas would really embody the spirit of them.
::What is your favorite place in Miami? When I think of Miami, I just love the beach. It is my favorite place in the world to be whatever city I happen to be in.

:: What do you love about Miami? I love the beautiful beaches of course, as well as the fast paced but still somewhat relaxed lifestyle. I love the heat and sunshine.

::Where do you shop in Miami? I’ve actually only experienced Miami a few times, so I need to do some more visiting and shopping down there to really answer that. But what I do love is the eclecticness and cultural mosaic that embodies the whole city.
:: When in Miami, is it better to go clubbing or to just relax on one of its awesome beaches? I would say relaxing on the beaches is the best, however I think it’d be fun to get as much in there of the experience as you can.

:: If I say Italy, you say…? Magnifico, a land of beautiful people and fashion.

Thank you! Looks wonderful!
